Some more information about our work.

As true artists we are constantly reviewing our products and looking for new approaches or avenues. If you would like to be kept up to date with emailed alerts when we update the site with new pictures send us a request to 'Keep me updated!' on the Contact Us  page and every time new stuff appears we'll let you know.
All the pieces are genuinely hand produced by Peter and Jane exclusively and no two are exactly alike. We do not farm out piece work or involve industrial processes.
Our ceramic pieces are hand modelled in a white earthenware body and hand-painted with highest quality earthenware glazes.
Go to our gallery to see them in-situ and then visit our shop and you they can be yours.

The pieces you see on this wbsite are fired in our own kiln to 1000 degrees celsius.
At this temperature the clay partially vitrifies and hardens: it is no longer clay but ceramic.
Earthenware is fired at lower temperatures than stoneware and is slightly porous and will absorb moisture. It is therefore not really suitable for regularly or permanently wet areas (e.g. showers) nor can it be guaranteed frost-proof.
The lower temerature does mean we can choose much brighter colours.
In order to keep them as affordable as possible, the hanging pieces we make are 'flatbacks' - i.e. the back is undecorated  - and are designed to hang against a wall or door etc. They therefore might be facing to the left or the right.
The chickens are actually based on our own hens a black one, a ginger one and a speckledy one.
